Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Download the GutScout app from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and tap "Sign Up" to create your account using your email address. You'll need to verify your email before you can start using the app.

What is the Bristol Stool Chart?

The Bristol Stool Chart is a medical tool that classifies stool into seven types based on shape and consistency. It's widely used by healthcare professionals to assess digestive health. GutScout uses this chart as the foundation for its AI analysis.

Using the App

How do I take a photo for analysis?

Tap the camera button on the home screen. Make sure you have good lighting and the photo is clear. The AI works best with well-lit, in-focus photos. You can also upload existing photos from your gallery.

What happens to my photos?

Your photos are automatically deleted after analysis. We only keep the analysis results (Bristol Stool Chart type and date) to track your trends. Your actual photos are never stored on our servers.

How accurate is the AI analysis?

Our AI is trained on the Bristol Stool Chart and provides consistent analysis. However, it's an educational tool, not a medical device. Results may vary based on photo quality and lighting. Always consult a healthcare provider for medical advice.

Tracking & Trends

How do I view my trends?

Tap the "Trends" tab to see your digestive health patterns over time. You can view daily, weekly, and monthly charts that show the distribution of your Bristol Stool Chart types.

Can I add notes to my entries?

Yes! After each analysis, you can add notes about your diet, symptoms, or anything else you want to track. This helps you identify patterns and correlations over time.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your health history as a PDF from the Settings menu. This is useful for sharing with your doctor or keeping a personal record.

Privacy & Security

Is my data private?

Yes, absolutely. All your health data is encrypted and stored securely. Your photos are auto-deleted after analysis. We will never sell or share your personal data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

The app won't analyze my photo

Make sure you have a stable internet connection and the photo is clear and well-lit. Try retaking the photo with better lighting. If the problem persists, contact support.

I forgot my password

On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to reset your password.

The app is crashing
